Sources first
Every figure on PetSums comes from a named source we link to: vet charities such as PDSA and Blue Cross, farming bodies such as NADIS and the National Sheep Association, the British Horse Society, the CAA and UK legislation. Where sources disagree, we say so and use the more widely cited figure.
Writing and review
Pages are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, then edited by a person who checks each figure against its source. Tool pages are then reviewed by someone qualified in the subject, whose name appears on the page. A page without a named reviewer has not yet had that review.
Independence
Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in what we write. Affiliate links will always be labelled next to the link.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, tell us. We check every report, fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can and list them below.
